Wayne McGuinty was working at Mashburn and Fitzgerald True Value Hardware in the early 1980s when he recognized the need for a general circulation paper that small businesses could utilize to reach their potential customer base. On April 25, 1983 the first edition of The Wilcox Marketer was printed and mailed to every address in Wilcox County.
